This overzealousness is the reason why my gmail inbox is so scary to open. I currently have over 18k unread promotional emails in my account. It will take me days to even delete and unsubscribe them all, which i had done years back and still they came back.
If you look at all the smileys, the clever "copywriting" that go into writing clever and hypnotic subject lines designed to seduce us, the amount of effort it takes, one cant help wonder, it would have been easier to make a good service that people love.
I am common man and one can only imagine the deluge a Journalist must face every time he/she dares to open his inbox.

Thats an actual ad he took out and people signed up even AFTER reading it. Hilariously, he says anyone who signed up for it is banned from signing up for Highrise. Hey Nathan, can I send access to my email account? You will get more than 18 thousand of them!
